Is there such a thing as too clean?
I hear the elders commenting that kids should be allowed to eat soil and get dirty to build better immunity. It sounds absurd if you take it literally, but if you think it through...it is a practical way of getting bad bacteria and yes, strengthening immune system. BUT not eating soil!!! Maybe it's the crawling the grounds and not being overly cautious to everything.
Personally, I am starting to believe this because my 5 year old daughter gets sick pretty easily. I sometimes wonder if I am to blame for making her wash her hands every time she touches the ground and she is about to eat, when I boil her utensils and anything that she will be putting into her mouth (including her toothbrush)...and the likes.
Do you think I'm doing it overly much??? Am I too clean? Well, it's just that she gets "singaw" or mouth sores/ulcers all the time. And it's just too difficult whenever she have diarrhea.
So tell me...what do I do then? Let her?

No. I do the same for my daughter here (except the boiling utensils part LoL) I won't let my daughter eat soil just to build her immunity. It sounds silly to me. Kids should be taught about hygiene in a very young age. And soil is not food!
Happy Tuesday, dear
