Who does not experience acidity? It is a normal occurrence that we suffer at least once in our lives. Since it is a natural reaction of our body to secrete acid every time there is food to digest, we all have acid in our stomachs. The problem comes when we eat highly acidic foods, or those that needs more acid to digest that particular food, that is beyond our tolerance.
We then suffer stomach pains and at times have gas pains. It's easy to cure it though with over the counter antacids.
But be reminded that too often bouts of acidity and prolong periods of having it can cause further harm to our stomach linings that in the end be the Stomach Ulcers we do not want to have. Advice then is to avoid too much of those acidic foods more so those that you cannot tolerate much. Acidic foods include spicy, caffeine containing, alcohol, carbonated drinks and hard to digest food. Again as I always say, eat everything in moderation.
Though at times that you already have acidity, you are advised to have Bland Diet. A post I did months ago on this is your way out of unbearable pain.
Aside from the food, there are other factors to acidity. Stress can be one of them. Therefore, live life the way it should be lived, one day at a time with no stress on what might or may have been.

Hyperacidity, gastritis, ulcers…these pains can be somehow alleviated by avoiding intake of caffeine, milk (dairy products) and carbonated drinks, for these induces acid production that is most harmful to gastric mucosa.
It is then advisable that coffee addicts shift to decaffeinated ones if cannot be avoided totally. I personally was able to shift years ago though started with the available brewed decaf until finally tolerated the instant decaf. Carbonated drink is a total no-no to all you who have the above mentioned irregularities. Some can tolerate juices, just be sure to choose bland non-acidic flavors, and fresh juices more preferable than processed. Milk turns to lactic acid thus milk and milk products are also a concern. Luckily, there are substitutes that can be used like yogurts, soya, and creamers, artificial discoveries. Calcium can then be taken from other sources (vegetables and supplements).
As always, it is better to go on PREVENTION THAN CURE! I’m pretty sure you will agree with me here. Thus, moderation is the key to healthy individuals to avoid onset of diseases that is nice to read about but never to have!
