Believe it or not, children below 3 years old also suffer from depression. Notice them having disruptions in eating and sleeping pattern? Since they are in this age of learning and rapid growth, it is not impossible that they experience traumatic circumstances. They are vulnerable, and this was recognized by experts thus was further researched and was found out that some struggles with posttraumatic stress disorder.

Brain development will continue on when your baby feels loved and secure. PediaJustify Fulltrics stressed out that they should have "secure attachment at least to one parent for them to feel free to explore their environment". Feelings of comfort, safety and security must be recognized by the child. And parents have primary role to do this. Honestly, we can do this by instinct. By cuddling them, singing to them, and all those things we even can't stop from doing because we also feel the need to be close to them, they feel this love. But those times that the parent is stressed out, depressed or unstable, the child struggles with her. However, since they are still having difficulty adjusting and they are not even aware how to manage what they feel they tend to either be aggressive or withdrawn. They cry frequently, have tantrums, may seem hyperactive and at times have problems with attention and concentration.

Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Oklahoma advises that parents open up to their babies pediatricians of any concern including fore mentioned symptoms for possible stress disorder. Since babies cannot take any anti depressant, their family have to turn to therapy. These medications cannot make the babies feel loved and secure; so look for something that would. And that will only be from her family and love ones.

This can lead to a lifetime problem since whatever happens in your childhood affects your adult life therefore it is a MUST that this be given attention.

I love going outdoors! I love enjoying the wonders of nature! It releases the stress of the daily work and chores that you have to deal with.

See nature at its best, pack your Tents and Camping Equipment and head into the wilds. Or maybe somewhere in the meadow, beside a stream, into the forest, the foot of the mountain, the beach…anywhere that would take your mind off this chaotic world we live in.

How nice it would be to put on another set of Outdoor Clothing other than what you wear going to the office or the malls. Feel the tranquil change of your surroundings as you leave the buzzing traffic of the city and welcome the serenity of the wilderness. Hear the birds sing from trees and not the blasting sound of music from the neighborhood, feel the fresh morning breeze and not just your airconditioning unit or of the pollution of the busy streets of the city…relax and set your mind free to go back healthy and rejuvenated from the outdoors.

YOGA
one of the popular stress relievers that I am yet to try

Life is not made to be lived simply. We have to face reality that there are ups and downs as we travel along. There are rough road, stiff climbs, different courses that leaves us no choice but to pass through them onto our destined goal. And with these comes STRESS.

Either it is internal or naturally occurring like aging, generic processes or sexuality; or external or the manageable ones such as poor diet, alcohol or drug abuse. Either way, Stress is defined as
“the rate of wear and tear in the human machinery which accompanies any vital activity”.

It happens to us all the time, but sometimes we are not aware of it until we are totally down already. We undergo Physiologic Stress when there is a disruption in our bodily organs or system making us more susceptible to microorganisms; Pathologic Stress when there is a disease or bodily harm like surgery, fever, infection; Metabolic Stress when we are fighting off those above mentioned disruptions (here includes the emotional stress you are probably looking for).

What I would like to point out here is the nutritional imbalance this stress can affect. And so:
CALCIUM intake should be increased because emotional and physical stress increases its excretion and decreases its absorption. You don’t want to lose a tooth or bend your back due to stress, won’t you?
PROTEIN intake should also be monitored since more of it will be broken down during such state. Muscle wasting will then take effect (your body will eat up your muscles if there are no enough protein available for it), plus your need for antibody production and recuperation is affected (like wound healing, infections, etc.)
BALANCED DIET is needed to maintain healthy weight since stress increases basal metabolic rate (or energy usage), so try to have the Carbo-protein-fat balance diet.
SMALL FREQUENT FEEDING is advisable to deal with stress better. Keep in mind that emotional stress increases gastric acid secretions thus relating it to acidity and even peptic ulcer.
THIAMINE AND VITAMIN C are emphasized for these prevent nervousness, irritability, loss of memory or concentration ability.

Now, I tell you…it is not easy being stressed! So try not to be. Keep smiling!
