Standing up after eating will not give you big tummies.
True. IF: you do this all the time PLUS doing other exercises and activities to make you lose those calories you take in everyday. Standing up will make your metabolism work more than sitting down.
The reality you have to face if you want a perfectly nice healthy body is for you to take the right amount of calories for your height and daily physical activity; and for you to have ways in burning them like routine exercise and physical movements.
Is this really work? Some friends told me the same thing, but I think that's quite nonsense LoL. I usually spend more time to sit down after eating, dear. Maybe that's one (of many) reason why I have a big belly right now *blushing*

most people get the misconception of the "sitting down thing" believing that the food gets stuck in your middle if you sit down after eating and creates the bulging stomach that does not return back to normal though the food is gone.

@ ris ~ understandably, its so nice to sit still after eating... especially if to the fullest when you can barely move anymore haha.
@bleep ~ very true, i heard of such notion more than a couple of time.
@ lina ~ it's just a matter of making your metabolism work more doing other activities than sitting down. and the mere standing up makes them work,what more of walking, running or exercising...not right after eating of course.
I don't know the right amount of calories I have to take in each meal.. LOL.. And I'm a big eater also.. ~_~ that's why my belly become bigger and bigger.. hahaha
According to Indian philosophy, If you want to have a good digestion, you should eat very slowly and get out of the table with a feeling of hunger... then lay on the right side to let your organs rest... from 10 to 20 minutes... Then you can run, as Jenie said... For me, it works pretty well...
