AT RISK to nutrient deficiency! This age group is said to have the poorest diet for the reasons known to us, and to them but existing nonetheless: emotional and social pressures, self-consciousness with regards to their figure and independence to their choice of food.
Teenagers tend to be more inclined to skipping breakfast ranging from no time, to not hungry, or watching weight, and even food in the morning makes me "sick" reasoning. Breakfast as we all know are vital to give energy for the day's work. Skipping it makes one sluggish thus performs poorly at work or in school and lack of endurance to activities. This then makes them dislike school or results to obesity.
Yes obesity because the body will try to preserve the calories she last consumed and store them as fat next time she eat (if done routinely) plus they then tend to nibble high caloric foods that compensates for the missed breakfast and combats hunger pangs. At times they even miss lunch because they had food intake at inappropriate time, either late breakfast or heavy snack; or could also be of the hectic schedule they cannot catch up on. MAJOR negative effect, nutrient deficiency.
With these it is then advisable to ensure that our teenage daughters eat breakfast. Teenage boys tend to eat more than girls thus providing them with their nutrient needs as compared to girls. It is also apt that we provide them with constant guidance with health information especially on dieting. They sometimes gets misled with fad diets with their fear of getting fat. Even heard some to avoid intake of vitamins having the WRONG notion that it makes one fat.
Making them understand the consequences with the right information will help them avoid the said negative effects of not having breakfast.

This goes along with the blog I wrote today. I agree. Also a healthy body image starts at home along with healthy eating habits.
Good info :)
Great article!
If these girls realized eating 3-6 times a day is healthier (and better for weight control) than eating once or twice!
Moderation in everything..........
