It is not necessarily legal separation that separates a husband and a wife, or a parent to a child. It commonly arises these days due to the needs of the family. Like that of those who chooses to work abroad (Oversesas Filipino Workers) either for a brighter future or a present need.
And I know it’s not easy being so far away from your family. As much as I wanted to do the same for my li’l Anya and my family, I can’t begin to start with the procedures, because just thinking about it gives me separation anxiety already. The fact that she’s a mere 3 years old, at a stage with the greatest separation anxiety I believe, is reason enough to reconsider and wait a few more years. She’s just way too dependent on me, being her single available parent.
But because I’m lucky enough to still have a choice.
