I have heard my grandparents telling me years ago that they sleep at midnight and get up at 4am. I told them I will be pretty wobbly with that amount of sleep…I need 8 hours plus an afternoon nap. My folks now are getting lesser and lesser sleep as well, to the point of them going back to bed but never getting any more sleep the way they do before.
And honestly, I, myself, do not get to sleep as much as I do before! Oh geez…a bad sign! Yeah, because it is proven that a person gets fewer sleep hours as they grow in years. Not because they need less sleep, but because they have more fragile sleep. They get disturbed easily, may it be with noise or light. And at this stage they have greater disorders and diseases that may contribute to not achieving restful sleep than young ones have. Still, sleeping disorders can be treated and can be affecting any age group…and so again, it is best to seek for doctor’s advice for possible sleep problem.
